Bikram and Indeep, a pair of high school sweethearts, experienced the kind of romantic surety of which every couple
dreams. They knew as soon as they began dating back in 2002 that they wanted to marry one another. When asked, now, to divulge their first impressions of each other, Bikram admits he was sure Indeep was “the one”! His official proposal came eight years later at the Ritz-Carlton while his bride-to-be attended medical school on Grand Cayman Island. Unbeknownst to Indeep, Bikram planned an elegant night out, with the help of her friends, and surprised her by appearing at the hotel. If Bikram’s
appearance wasn’t stunning enough, Indeep was promptly swept off her feet with an evening of elegance, and a gorgeous engagement ring, thus cementing what they’d already known
deep in their hearts for nearly a decade.
The couple had some time to work out all the details before actually walking down the aisle. Indeep’s studies, and the clinical
rotations she later completed, would keep her away from home another three years. This waiting period was not without fun,
however! Bikram and Indeep held an extravagant three-day engagement ceremony following Bikram’s proposal, as is traditionally done in India. It was a great way to celebrate their excitement, while also building some anticipation before the actual wedding!
The intermission between proposal and
ceremony also gave the couple plenty of opportunity to plan their ideal wedding. Due to her absence, Indeep would not always be available for some of the crucial decision-making, so it became apparent that she and Bikram would have to uphold strong communication throughout the entire process and rely on family,
friends, and professionals to help keep things on track.
This was no problem! To ensure their special day would go as smoothly as possible, Bikram and Indeep utilized some extremely helpful resources, such as The Cultural Wedding Planner and the GRAND Wedding Show Vancouver (grandweddingshow.com). One of the services the couple found helpful when organizing was the budget breakdown found at the back of the book. They also appreciated the fact that the Cultural
Wedding Planner made sure that even the deejay and limousine companies were not forgotten. These might seem like small
details, at first, but who doesn’t want the very best for their big The GRAND Wedding Show played another important role in the planning procedure. It provided a keen insight into what various
vendors had to offer.
Bikram and Indeep say they were
particularly taken with the diverse decorators’ booths. Different
professionals had many gorgeous goods to offer prospective clients in attendance, and lined up to proffer them the best of the best. In this way, the show was an integral part in the visualization of their options. It can be extremely inspiring to
immerse oneself in all the possibilities!
Equipped with these stress-saving tools, the betrothed pair treated themselves, and their guests, to truly incredible
celebrations.
